This will be hands-on blacksmithing training on Saturday 7 March 2026 for a small group.  The ancient skills workshop will be all day near Leonardtown, Maryland.  Training starts at 0900 am and will end at dusk then followed by dinner and activities around the fire until 7 pm.  We have room for 14 participants who must be active or veteran military (or LEO/First Responder if military slots are not filled) and will get to work in the forge of a Tribe friend who is a blacksmith, and with his assistant who will be on hand.  Part of the training may be outdoors and with a more rustic Viking theme though not a Viking age forge.  Come dressed as a Viking if you wish, some of us will, but please long pants, long sleeves, no loose clothing, and closed toe shoes.  Coffee, water, snacks, and a hearty meal around the campfire will be provided free of charge.  We will tell stories and sing Sea Shanties around the fire. 
 
There will be no charge for this training as it is part of our Veterans charitable program; however, donations are always welcome especially as we build our Viking Hall and they are tax deductible.  We may also have some Tribe tee shirts and bling for those interested in buying as all the profit goes to our 501c3 nonprofit.    
 
This marks the sixth year that we have done blacksmithing, this session is unique and will focus on the more ancient skills and perhaps serve as inspiration to set up your own forge.  Participants will get to forge items like knives, boat hooks, and even mead horn holders.
 
To register you must be an active or veteran military member or law enforcement/first responder.  Only those 21 and older will be able to share an adult beverage with us.  When you register, please tell us your name and service affiliation and we will send you an email with the location and contact instructions for the blacksmithing workshop near Leonardtown, Maryland.  Please do not delay, the small number of slots will go quickly.
