Gettysburg — April 18, 2026 Sixth Battlefield Tour with March to Honor Fallen Warriors

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, Odin’s Warrior Tribe will once again step onto the Hallowed ground of Gettysburg National Military Park for our acclaimed battlefield tour and commemorative march.

This will mark our sixth year gathering at Gettysburg — a tradition built on remembrance, education, and warrior fellowship.

This powerful 6–7-mile experience will take us across historic terrain—Culp’s Hill, Little Round Top, Devil’s Den, and the fields of Pickett’s Charge—guided and narrated by Tribe members who have studied military history and have advanced degrees, as well as are combat veterans, and a resident of Gettysburg itself.

For active and veteran military, law enforcement, and first responders. Upon request those qualified may bring a spouse or partner.

Odin’s Warrior Tribe will be gathering for the Amon Amarth concert on May 5th at MGM National Harbor. The show begins at 7:00 PM, and we will go into the venue around 6:00 PM to get settled in.

Pre-Concert Meetup:

We’ll begin gathering at 4:00 PM (1600 hours) at the Lobby Bar inside the MGM. Come early, meet fellow Tribe members, have a drink, and get in the mood for what’s going to be an epic night. Active and Veteran military prospects for the Tribe – we will buy your drink.

After the show, look for us at Blossom, the bar also inside the MGM. It’s open until 2:00 AM, casual, comfortable, and a great place to unwind and celebrate the night. Many of us are staying overnight at the MGM, so expect the hangout to continue well into the evening.

Dress Code:

Blossom is casual but stylish — concert attire and solid Tribe gear are absolutely welcome.

Tribe Weekend Recap – Virginia and Minnesota

On Saturday, Jan 31, we held a powerful Pub Moot at White Bear Meadery — hosted by Tribe members with five strong prospects in attendance.

Then on Sunday, many of the Tribe gathered at the Chieftain’s home for sacred milestones:

• Two oaths were sworn — a Ukrainian shieldmaiden and artist who’s seen the front lines and a U.S. Navy veteran, firefighter, and farmer.

• A U.S. Army veteran & law enforcement officer was awarded the Noble Order of Týr for merit and service to the Tribe.

We feasted like warriors: spare ribs, roast goat, venison, borscht, pasta salad, gnocchi, Bundt cakes, and more.

Voices rose in song: “Santiana,” “Over the Hills,” “Thor’s Song,” “Farewell Nova Scotia,” and “My Mother Told Me” in Old Norse.

Brotherhood, family, sacred vows — a weekend to remember.

At dawn, Huginn and Muninn fly out from Odin’s shoulders, crossing the Nine Worlds in search of news, secrets, and stirrings of fate.

Along the way, they pause for a snack—a bit of a dead fish by the tidepool, just enough to sharpen their hunger for truth.

And before the hour of undern—Odin’s mid-morning meal—they return to him in Asgard, bearing the weight of all they’ve seen.

The Chieftain — a veteran of US Marine Corps Recon, later transferring to the U.S. Army where he served in the Ranger Regiment, Special Operations, and Tier 1 units across five wars — recently evaluated the Staccato HD P4.

A Certified Government Firearms Instructor with multiple advanced instructor credentials, the Chieftain tested the pistol outfitted with a Trijicon RMR (the official USSOCOM Handgun Reflex Sight), at 7, 10, and 15 yards.

Testing included:
– Drills from concealed draw (under vest using Odin Holsters LLC Kydex rig)
– Three-quarter combat speed at 7 and 10 yards
– Aimed fire on a 4”x4” target stapled within the A-zone at 7, 10, and 15 yards

Results: Across 51 rounds (3 x 17rd magazines), only one round drifted just off the 4” target — all others tight within the square.
The Staccato performed flawlessly: precision, control, and absolute confidence.

Winter Nights 2025 — The Epic Gathering of the Tribe

This year’s Winter Nights will be our most legendary yet. We will honor ancient tradition and living brotherhood with oaths and naming ceremonies, a wedding beneath the gods, and two full blóts — sacred offerings of gratitude and renewal.

The weekend will blaze with Viking Day for Veterans, archery, games, and sailing aboard our two longships — Sæ Úlfr and Sæ Hrafn. We will also bestow the most ever awarded Noble Orders of Týr, celebrating courage and service among our ranks.

There will be songs and live performances, including original music and a song written just for the Tribe — an anthem for our brotherhood and our journey together.

Each night will end with incredible feasts, laughter, and the finest mead and beers flowing through the hof as we celebrate under torch and star.

We will raise money for the Viking Hall we are building.

Winter Nights 2025 will be an oath of kinship, fire, and legacy — a gathering our ancestors would recognize, and our descendants will remember.

Almost a dozen Tribe members gathered at the Wardruna concert last night at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. We also spoke with four new prospects for the Tribe. Chelsea Wolfe opened with a sultry mix of guitar and keys, and Wardruna was classic—artificial smoke filled the orchestra while they gave us two extra songs: Helvegen and a new lullaby. THOR’S HAMMER — GOLD ROOM, SWEDISH HISTORY MUSEUM

A masterwork of devotion and craft: a Viking-Age Mjölnir pendant in silver with gold detail, worn close to the heart as a pledge to the protector-god Thor. Dating to AD 800–1100, it balances fierce power with exquisite artistry—its compact form carrying thunder, protection, and identity across the centuries.

Catalog: Torshammare (object 108249_HST); weight 21.5 g, length 65.3 mm, width 40.3 mm; findspot: Erikstorp, Ödeshög parish, Östergötland; acquired 1876 (no. 5671); on display in the Gold Room (Guldrummet).

To stand before it is to feel the quiet voltage of belief: a small pendant that once declared faith, kin, and courage—now gleaming in the half-light like a promise kept.

One of the things we say in our tribe often is when we speak of our Thor’s Hammers vice Mjolnir - the reason being there is ONLY ONE MJOLNIR - and it belongs to Thor - the Thunderer.

The Chieftain, assisted by our Völva, officiated recently at the handfasting of a Tribe member and his wife in Germany. Though already legally married, this was a true spiritual wedding, with logistics planned by the couple, the Völva, and her family. The Chieftain used our special Tribe wedding ritual — reconstructed from the old ways and parts of which were shared with us by friends in Iceland — a fusion in itself, just as the day was meant to be.

A large gathering of our Tribe and friends attended, though not all could be present, and together we shared in the sacred vows, the blessings, and the joy of community. What followed was a great feast — a fusion of German and Asian cuisine — paired with a wonderful freshly brewed mead.

Just as in the old ways, there was a Sumbl and the toasts began with the first round to the gods, goddesses, land-wights, and the dísir. The second, the minni, honored the departed ancestors. The third, the bragafull, was lifted to one’s achievements, with great stories told and much laughter shared.
It was a day of joy, tradition, and fellowship — one that honored both our forebears and our living bonds as a Tribe.

REVIEW AIFUR KROG & BAR – STOCKHOLM – A VIKING THEMED RESTAURANT

I had a mid-week dinner at Aifur, a Viking-themed restaurant in Stockholm’s Old Town, and it was a really good experience. The atmosphere is cozy and historic, with long communal tables that make it easy to meet new people. I went alone since Tribe members were in Norway and some had returned to Germany after Midgardsblot. was seated with a brother and sister and their families from different parts of the world, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

The food was excellent — I had the lamb, which was very well prepared. It came with root vegetables. There is also venison and fish on the menu. I also tried two different meads: the Linden Honey which was not too sweet and quite nice, and another black currant variety that was outstanding. Later in the evening, live music gave the night an even better atmosphere.

Expect to spend around $70 for a meal with a couple of drinks, which is normal for a good restaurant in Stockholm. If you’re going as one, two, or even three people, you can usually walk in early without a reservation. For larger groups, it’s best to book ahead.

Overall, Aifur is a fun and memorable place to enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company in the heart of Gamla Stan – Old Town.

The Tribe will have a special Blot and Sumbl with roasted wild boar and lots of mead in Germany, with the Chieftain and Volva presiding, and Tribe members this coming weekend.

THE BIRKA WARRIOR WOMAN: GRAVE BJ 581

The Chieftain of Odin’s Warrior Tribe visited Birka, the Viking Age trading town on the island of Björkö in Lake Mälaren. Standing on the ground where the Viking warrior woman was laid to rest, he paid respects to one of the most extraordinary discoveries in Norse archaeology.

There is a new article in the Heathen Life Blog: The Birka Warrior Woman: Grave Bj 581. It explores the story of this high-status warrior burial—long assumed to be a man of renown—revealed by modern DNA and osteological analysis to have been a woman.

A Warrior’s Grave
Excavated in 1878, Grave Bj 581 was found in a commanding position above the town. The chamber contained a full warrior’s arsenal—sword, axe, spear, arrows, seax, and two shields—alongside two sacrificed horses and a gaming set of pieces and dice, often a sign of strategic command. One of only two graves in Birka with a complete set of weapons. Also, there were silk fragments and a unique silk cap decorated with silver indicating possible travel to the East - modern Ukraine based on other examples.

For more than a century, the burial was interpreted as that of a male chieftain. But in 2017, DNA testing confirmed the occupant was female, forcing a reevaluation of Viking society’s assumptions about gender and warfare.

Debate and Meaning
Some scholars argue the warrior’s weapons and horses were symbolic; others maintain that they mark her as a true martial leader. The parallels with the Salme ship burials in Estonia—where a male leader was buried with the same gaming pieces—suggest that the woman of Bj 581 was honored with the same symbols of command. One team of experts including Viking Age author, professor, and archaeologist Dr. Neil Price concluded, in the case of Bj581 it is the grave of a female warrior.

Her burial resonates with the sagas’ shield-maidens and Valkyries, figures who fought alongside men and chose the slain for Valhalla.

Her remains are now at the Swedish Historical Museum, but her spirit is in Birka.

Just yesterday—on sacred ground in Borre, Norway, standing atop a Viking burial mound—we welcomed a new European member into Odin’s Warrior Tribe. He is a military heathen, a brother of strength and discipline, and with him our ranks grow not only in the United States but across Europe. We have a large group of prospects in our extensive and thorough application process that ensures we only take the very best. Heathens that you will be proud to call your brother or sister and who when you need help will answer the call in the middle of the night.

We are the most elite, the most prestigious, the most battle-hardened Heathen tribe in the world. In our ranks are warriors and guardians from Iceland, Ireland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, and more. Joining this Tribe means gaining a network of tribal brothers and sisters who stand with you, who fight with you, and who walk with you on the old paths of honor.

We form an elite within Heathenry. Only the very best belong here—and with them, we will achieve great things. We have already proven it: we built and now sail our own Viking ship, we created our Viking camp, and now we are raising our Viking Hall—a place where members from all over the world will gather for great festivals. Regional gatherings in the U.S. and Europe will ensure the Tribe stays strong wherever our warrior’s dwell.

This is another wake-up call. Stop wasting your time with memes posted by those who sit in basements, who have never traveled, never seen the world, and who copy the words and style of others because they have no deeds of their own, or loser groups.

Study is important, but the true path is to travel - to go forth. To see with your own eyes the lands of our ancestors. To walk the Viking burial mounds, to stand in the halls of the Germanic tribes, to feel the presence of the old gods where they once walked. To know not just stories—but to live the faith that we are resurrecting now.

BREAKING NEWS: THE OSEBERG SERPENT BOW ORNAMENT DISPLAYED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 120 YEARS

For the first time since its excavation in 1904, the original serpent head from the bow of the Oseberg ship is on public display at the Cultural History Museum in Oslo.

This intricate spiral carving—shaped like a serpent’s head—was the proud prow of the best-preserved Viking grave ship ever discovered. The ship itself represented the serpent’s body, with the stern forming the tail.

For over a century, visitors to the museum saw only a replica mounted on the ship, as the fragile original was too delicate to exhibit. Now, after careful preservation, the true bow ornament of the Oseberg ship can finally be seen, a masterpiece of Viking artistry and symbolism returned to the light.

From the heart of Tønsberg Harbor, history rises once more.

The Saga Gokstad—a full archaeological reconstruction of the legendary 9th-century Gokstad ship—is taking shape plank by plank, oak by oak. Every curve, every rivet is built with Viking Age tools and techniques, just as our ancestors did over a thousand years ago.

The scent of fresh-cut timber and pine tar hangs in the air as master shipwrights and dedicated volunteers work side by side. The Chieftain wandered around the ship, inspecting the planking as if greeting an old friend. He first saw her construction in 2022 and members have been checking in the site every year during Midgsrdsblot or the Tonsberg Viking Festival.

This is no mere replica—it is a vessel reborn, forged from tradition, skill, and the will to keep our seafaring heritage alive. When she finally takes to the water, she will not just be a ship, but a living link between past and present, a reminder that the spirit of the North still sails.. #vikingship #gokstad

Today we visited the Norwegian Armed Forces Museum at historic Akershus Fortress in Oslo. This medieval stronghold, first built in the late 1200s, has guarded the Oslofjord for over seven centuries—and within its 19th-century arsenal lies a treasure trove of Norway’s military history.

Inside, the museum takes you on a journey from the Viking Age through the nation’s defining moment in 1814, into the crucible of World War II, and onward to the modern era. Uniforms, weapons, medals, flags, vehicles, and immersive exhibits bring to life the courage, sacrifice, and traditions of Norway’s armed forces. It’s a place where history stands watch just as steadfastly as the fortress walls themselves.

VIKING BOATS VOYAGE REPORT – JULY 19, 2025

Under morning clouds that gave way to intense summer heat—temperatures soaring over 100°F—The Tribe’s Sae Ulfr skippered by the Chieftain and the Longship Co’s Sae Hrafn with two captains and a First mate onboard sailed together on a four-and-a-half-mile journey from our dock to the sandy and pebble beaches of a nearby state park.

There, we landed on a beach not far from where British forces came ashore in Maryland 1814 during the War of 1812. According to Royal Marines records, a battalion of Royal Marines departed Bermuda on June 30 and joined Rear Admiral Cockburn’s Chesapeake squadron in mid‑July. On the morning of July 19, this battalion landed near Leonardtown, MD advanced alongside British ships, and forced American defenders to withdraw.

This was a historic first for Sae Ulfr—her first beach landing in true Viking raiding style.

Crews disembarked for a brief shoreside picnic before preparing for the return trip. On the return, we raised sails on both ships, and though the wind was light, it added some welcome aid. A stiffer breeze would have been a blessing, but the spirit of the day carried us just fine.

Sae Hrafn, of the Longship Company, was crewed by members of Lehigh Valley Viking Combat (which has Tribe members), Longship Company captains, a few Tribe, and allies. Sae Ulfr sailed proudly with an all-Tribe crew, including a prospect and families of our members. Though smaller, Sae Ulfr led the way the entire voyage.

Both ships performed superbly. Both crews showed skill, grit, and heart. It was a day to remember.
